As iconic as this image is, I love the Norman Rockwell version of Rosie even more. The more popular version might be more inspiring, what with the whole ‘we can do it’ motto and all, but Rockwell’s Rosie is so cocky, so beefy, and so badass, she’s almost the opposite of that. “No, you can’t ever hope to be as awesome as me!” is what she’s saying.

That’s not very helpful.
 
The female-to-male ratio is obviously in favor for the mares, so it’s not like mares are a minority in terms of power. And seeing how Celestia was ruler for 1000+ years, matriarchy is going to be very popular. Which in itself doesn’t equate to equality.

Kind of hard to imagine that there was ever any sexism in Equestria when the ruler of the country ~~and species, probably ~~ is a beautiful sun goddess. If anything, it’s the other way around. And somehow I doubt that.
