Not only that, but it strengthens biases that weaboos have against western animation.
They may be stylistically different, but Japanese animation doesn’t deserve its own name. If anything, singling it out makes it less likely to be accepted by the mainstream.

Well, it’s true. The only differences are stylistic conventions, and even then there is a lot of influence and overlap.
Anime and cartoons are the same.
