Ehh. But the difference is Twilight never really blew off her friends for no reason. Her reason was as the other person said “recluse”. She was pretty anti-social and uncomfortable around others. Sure she’s a bad friend (she didn’t know how to be a good one), but not a bad person.
 
So I think it’s less “Her being a recluse is a consequence of that(a bad friend)” and more Her being a bad friend is a consequence of being a recluse.

Granted, this is still pretty wildly out of character for both of them, but I’m trying to rationalize it somehow. Judy is pretty confrontational, she probably thinks that all Twilight needs is a little bit of humility and a long chat and she’ll open up.

Sure Twilight blew her off, but instead of taking a hint and leaving her alone, Judy went right to insulting her. Neither of them are pleasant people.

Blowing off your friends at a regular basis is kinda jerky I would say. Then Minuette herself tells Twilight not to worry about being a bad friend, since they were used to it from her. I’m sure you have friends you like despite them being ass hats.
 
The only interactions with see from pre-elements Twilight with her friends are: her bailing out on a party and the gang saying she does that all the time, her correcting Moon Dancer in an arguably cold manner, her being obviously annoyed to be with her pals and preferring to read a book than interact with them in the photo that spike gives Moon Dancer. Then when you take the fact that Spike, Minuette and Twilight herself say that she treated her old friends like crap, you have a good case for her being a jerk. Her being a recluse is a consequence of that.

No evidence to really support it. We’ve only see her jumping for joy when she was accepted by Celestia, being shy and preferring to be alone. There’s no instances of her being rude. Her friends from Canterlot also seemed to remember her fondly besides Moon Dancer.
 
In my head canon she was just recluse, but polite in avoiding social activities.

I’ve known forums that devolve into cesspits full of sycophants gathering around the mods, creating a permanent circle jerk where anyone that had a different opinion would get banned after being crucified by the staff. I’d take a barely moderated board over that, like the old /b.
