Well the story pokes fun at itself, so it’s hard to see when it’s poking fun or legitimately trying to apply logic.
 
Just remember: In Season One of MLP:FiM, Twilight Sparkle actually asked herself “What would Rainbow Dash do?” before trying to charge at a hydra. Some… aren’t too smart when under pressure. Heh…

Could simply say she came up to him already looking like this, like she was ready to get to bed or something like that. Its not yet established that she always runs around looking dressed and such, i’m sure she undressed when she goes to sleep or especially when she takes a bath or shower.
