Description
Fluttershy was trying to get a good photo in a quicksand pit she found. Sadly, the mud is giving her trouble in keeping that pose.
I had a bit of fun making this. The gif isn’t 100% perfect, with the plant life not looping properly, but I think I did well on animating Fluttershy.
For those that are curious and/or may recognize that sign graphic, I admittedly borrowed it from this comic: >>701311 It was originally a skull and cross-bones, but I didn’t think it fully represented that situation, as a skull and cross-bones can indicate a lot of other things.
I MIGHT consider doing a version where she fully sinks, or even a full set like this one involving the rest of the mane 6. Let me know what you guys want :)

Well, that works in water, and you actually have more buoyancy in quicksand since it’s alot thicker than water; if it were any thicker, you’d break your neck if you tried to dive in.

This VICE Documentary may shed some light on the subject. For me, long story short I like quicksand on three fronts. First is Wet and Messy, because it’s mud and clay play obviously. Secondly is vore, because you are essentially swallowed by the earth never to be seen again. Third is peril, which kind of ties into point two. It’s like playing around with the classic Damsel in Distress story, only with mud and the threat of death.
it’s a weird subset of vore/encasement. I can’t really tell you anymore than that, it’s a mystery to me, too.

I had to double check myself after I posted that and yea, you got a point.
Otherwise you’re dead from other sources that may or may not be related to the sand at all. Like some predator stopping by and finding a nice snack I guess; but I don’t know if I’d find that likely.
Or you could freeze if it’s cold out or you’e stuck overnight or dehydrate if it’s too hot.
Actually, drowning is almost never a problem; in many cases, waist-deep is about as far as you can sink.
You’re actually in more danger of getting crushed by quicksand; trying to pull anything out can cause the sand to compress around the thing getting pulled, literally cementing it in place.
Well she is also treating quicksand about right too. Move slow, don’t panic. You shouldn’t sink all the way in quicksand either, about up the waist seems to be the norm.
The real risk is just exhausting yourself or getting trapped in a prone position where you could drown. So you don’t thrash, that’s the key.
Actually, it is. She just realizes and pushes herself out before she could get stuck.
