Can Applejack life without her legs? Will she experience new things in life or will she just cry all the time?
 
Also Spike feeding and soothing helpless and sad Twilight make it happen.

It is my firm belief that if Twilight had not been chosen as the Element of Magic and not absorbed Dash’s Sonic Rainboom energy, she would of gotten a book as her cutie mark. As it was, she was chosen even though she can be weak-willed and prone to madness, because of her intelligence and skill for learning.
 
Taking away her being a unicorn would defy her very way of life. She would lose her cutie mark and have to get a new one.
