It sure looks like someone is spamming them because they think it’s a funny way to troll the booru to me. Same with the sonic shipping art. Otherwise, why is it always done anonymously?
I think the biggest problem is that somebody decided to mock the artist by spamming their work.
I highly doubt that the artist is the one posting all of these.
I thought the problem was the “spam”, not that it wasn’t good looking.
again, doesn’t need to spam out a page to improve, you can practice without sharing a wave of similar looking art.
I’d buy the whole “still developing their skills” argument, if not for the fact that their art style hasn’t developed or improved in the two years they’ve been a member of DA.
I’ve seen plenty of artists who start out poorly and improve.
In fact, I rather enjoy following beginners with potential just for the sake of watching them improve.
What we have here is a case of stagnation. The artist has clearly decided that they’re “good enough,” and isn’t making any effort to improve.

I’ll give anyone a chance, and i’m not the best artist here by a long shot and i’m aware of that, but i don’t post every little bit of art i do, i know how to self filter only the stuff i consider Ok or better and even then only occasionally. You can learn to draw without posting every single sketch, thats what sketchbooks are for, spend less time uploading hundreds of low quality images for the world to see and spend that time uploading on sketching and getting better so that instead of people feeling its spam they go “wow thats cool”. This is Spam.
That’s all fine and dandy, but people calling it shit and spam? Thats quite over the top, in my opinion. Quality standard or not, there is no reason to act like we only accept that kind of content.
At the risk of sounding cruel…
People need to understand that Derpibooru users are used to seeing high-quality work.
If an artist is incapable of delivering even a moderately good piece of art, they have no right to expect praise for sub-par work.

Maybe s/he should upload at most 10 pics per hour, but it seems that s/he is still trying to learn how to draw. Just give new artists a chance too. My first (and only) own pic also was downvoted just because I’m not as good as expert artists
Low-quality art uploaded anonymously in mass quantity seems like it’s probably spam.
why? because an artist is uploading his pics?
Yes, maybe s/he should make an upload per hour limit (like 10 pics per hour) but it’s nevertheless fanart
