How cosplayers typically emulate Sheik:  
  1. colored matching outfit (bright and saturated)  
  2. hairstyle (long braid and bangs, even on guys)  
  3. hair color (dyed bright and saturated blond)  
  4. wrapped gauze on hands (brand new pristine white, loosely wrapped)  
  5. talk about the Zelda games with others
     
    How I would emulate Sheik (were I to try):  
  6. bigass fixed-blade knife in horizontal holster in the small of my back  
  7. dirty, gray boxing tape tightly wrapped around fingers, hands and forearms  
  8. 20 homemade double-ended senbon shuriken (15cm long 4mm low-grade steel cut and sharpened on a bench grinder), bound elastically in cylindrical pouch attached to the thigh and suspended by belt  
  9. slender, toned, flexible body  
  10. don’t say a word to anyone at the convention
     
    You’d be surprised how many of those things I already possess/do :D  
    I think my approach is too lackluster to fit in with the cosplayer scene though.
