i agree with you. Twilight is a good protagonist in the show (episodes about her), But Sunset Shimmer is really cool and lovely, she has all the potential to be the main character in the movies or EqG series without need of focus on Twilight. I hope we can see more of the shadowbolts in the future.
Agreed, and I like Twilight…but it doesn’t always have to be about her, you know? Besides…truth be told, Twi has started to move away from being the character I/we fell in love with to some extent in order to be a slightly more generic team leader type. I mean, I was actually offended by “Nopony likes sarcasm, Spike!” But if Sci-Twi were to stay at CPA, one that presumably gets run by Cadance after Cinch is wisely fired, that would add a new dimension to the character and a decent spinoff. Sad…

Yeah, I got the feeling that Sugarcoat is her only real “friend” there, and that’s only by Sugar not being completely obsessed with outperforming everyone. She honestly seems to be the kind of acquaintance who is willing to give some advice from time to time. It’s just she doesn’t know how to, well, make it gentle.

As for [Glimmer’s Redemption, I might go the Sunset route with people. And I know it’s gonna be heavily mixed. And I’m just gonna be eating popcorn at seeing Crystal Neighybánya’s meltdown if it occurs, since I know how much he/she hates Starlight.
The fandom’s current attitude towards Starlight Glimmer seems reminiscent to how they treated Sunset back in her debut. Since it appears imminent. Hopefully Glimmerdemption is anything like the Sunset redemption.

Yeah, I can totally see Sugar as somewhat of the intellectual on the Shadow 5 team. I wonder what kind of books she read? Her appearance makes her look unlikely to be qualified for Motocross racing. But she is.
Not only is she honest, she is DEADLY honest! Entering into a relationship with her would be a awkward experience. Much more weirder on bed. I’d imagine. Imagine her being blunt about your performance.

Even more than Discord’s redemption.
Yeah. It’s been quite an compelling and interesting road for Sunset’s overall character. And while the EQG series is separate from the main FIM series, I’m sure nobody will argue that Sunset’s transformation/redemption from a cookie-cutter villainess to a top-of-a-line heroine has fared way better than any other villain redemption in the whole MLP series so far.
Make Hasbro realize Sunset’s popularity.
Amazing how she started out as the worst villain, a “villain sue”, in the franchise in the first movie that people were ready to demand that Hasbro scrap her. But ended up becoming one of the most favourite among the fans that we want to have as a protagonist. She has the potential to surpass Twilight, and in some fields she already has, as a strong protagonist.

Agree. I wish Twi stayed at CHS. The Equestira Girls movies seemed more like a series bound for Sunset Shimmer. And it feels fresh compared to Twilight being the main center piece all the time.
I love Twily too, but it seems like she’s getting shoved down our throats in these movies. And that was one problem that I had with Rainbow Rocks. As much as I love that movie, the whole thing with Twi being there seemed forced and unnecessary. Also the fact that Sunny sorta had the epiphany to understand how to defeat the Dazzlings and Twi didn’t.
UGH! She gonna hog the future spotlight in the series. I just know it!
They could’ve had for once a potential side series where they have a different main protagonist in the drivers’ seat of the series. But NOOOOOOO!
I love Twilight. But this Twilight shoehorning is getting annoying in the franchise now. It doesn’t matter if it’s the show, movies, comics, or whatever. It’s almost like they feel that they have to include at least small cameos of Twilight in episodes that don’t need her nor focus on her.
That was the part that killed what otherwise would have been an somewhat average enjoyable movie for me.
She probably could’ve gotten popularity in CPA as well had she stayed. It looked like the regretful CPA students were ready to reconcile with her, after realizing how they treated her. Beside, Twi was the one who helped them own the academic half of the games.
Now that I think about that part in the movie. I hate it even more. She abandoned her former comrades, however toxic they were to her, in favor of a “safer” atmosphere. That is betrayal, cowardice and selfishness. Desertion, not a good message to the kids IMO. I personally don’t take lightly on betrayals.
As CPA. Kinda want that uderlying friendly rivalry to persist between them.

according to the deleted scenes, that was writer had in mind. But hasbro wanted to do human twilight as a new CHS student (toy toy toy, sell sell sell)
