The issue with this is that you were also getting confrontational about people using Limestone or Marble instead of Blinkie and Inkie, asking “what the hell fandom we came from” and all.
 
I never gave a damn about Blinkie, but Limestone became my favorite character in the show. What do you think I’m going to call her?
 
Nobody is forcing you to use Limestone, and the only reason people tried to “canon police” you is because you tried to fanon smack us over the head in the same sense, if not worse so. If you are going to be like that about your fanon, people are going to state that they use canon.

And Derpy’s never had any other name spoken in the show; the names of the other ponies in Pinkie’s family have been spoken in the show. You can continue to use the Pac-Man ghost names if you want and even justify them as being nicknames, but it’s silly to try to correct people who’re using actual canon names actually used in the actual show.

What kind of fandom did you come from? The Pie sisters were Inkie, Blinkie, and Pinkie, and their parents were Clyde and Sue. And Maud was retconned into the family for story, not marketing, purposes.
