How else would you describe it; being ‘love poison’ed into a relationship, as if that’s any different?
Why on earth would they be drugged into relationship? That is not what happened in Hearts and Hooves Day. They are supposed to get along and be married!

At the end they only went to have lunch together, saying “sugar bear” and “pumpkin pie” to teases the CMC about what happened.
So no they never said they where dating.

Pinkie is assumed to be an incredibly distant relative of Applejack. TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, yes, but in much the same way that, going through family trees, ANYONE can be seen as being related to ANYONE ELSE.
It’s been stated many time, if they are related it’s distant to the point that it isn’t incest.

Cherilee and Mac tried dating, but her job and his chores got in the way most of the time. During some free time, he works with the ponytones and expresses his singing talent. Cherilee shows she’s still interested in him but it’s one of those “my career comes first” relationships. Marble Pie is the sister to one of his sister’s friends, is as bashful as he is, and lives a similar lifestyle, albeit in a different type of farm, thus the two of them hit it off.
… And I’m okay with that!
