The snipping tool is just a screen-capture tool for Windows. It looks like it’s just one user who’s probably been using it to make the screencaps they’ve uploaded… and probably shouldn’t be using the tag like that since we usually only bother to mention software in tags when said software is brought up in the image itself.

Ah. I originally thought it was a synonym for cropped, in which case it should be tagged as that, but this sounds more like a synonym for screencap. in which case it should probably be tagged as that.

Not sure about aliasing, since there is at least one actual proper use of the tag.
I think we should just remove the tag from the screencaps and have a mod send that one user a message.

To add onto the cutie mark discussion, I tag the pics with the CMC having their cutie marks as the cmc’s cutie marks, so I can find the cutie marked CMC, rather than their blank flank versions. This also seems to add the cutie mark tag onto images however. Is there a better solution outside manually removing “cutie mark” from those pics?

This wouldn’t normally be a problem if it weren’t for the fact that “Cosmos” seems to be a popular name for theoretical show villains both among the fandom and the writers, which means that there are currently two very different sorts of pictures in a single tag – pictures relating to Cosmos as in the maybe-possible-villain and pictures relating to the cosmos as in the universe.
This isn’t exactly an ideal state of affairs, and I think that aliasing and/or cleanup would be useful. Since the use of cosmos to mean the universe seems to both have more uses and to have been used that way for longer, I would support it being given priority status if it came to that. Maybe the tag could be split between

Seems like there’s already a
[cosmos \(character\)](/tags/cosmos+%28character%29) tag up, with three uses so far. Is dealiasing still preferable, or would retagging be a better option, or what?

I was fairly certain that was the artist, and this was just an edit with the ping icon added to it, but I haven’t been able to find it since. I may have made a goof, but has anyone else felt more confident?

I’m 99% sure that isn’t the same vector.
The line under her right (left for us) eye is a bit thinner than in the other picture and the left end of that line points down a bit more. Plus this one has a face line clipping into the pink of the mane which still is visible even after downscaling the image to 512px. The other image doesn’t seem to have that.
