The offer was’t to be a Wonderbolt - technically, they’re not even flying as Wonderbolts. And Dash is of the opinion, at least, that her skills are sufficient to make her eventual membership an inevitability.(Besides, going head to head with a team of Wonderbolts is pretty awesome too.)

Sorry, but I fail to see how this should matter more to the Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps than to Rainbow Dash. Who are they to tell Dash “sorry about your lifelong dream, but I’m bored so uh fuck you you might never get another chance at this.” The only thing that makes Twilight right about all this is Soarin’.

The rest of us don’t see this as so much of a once-in-a~~lifetime chance as you. Perphas if this was her shot at getting noticed ~~ but she already aced the Academy and saved several Wonderbolt’s lives. They aren’t going to write her off over this.

My point is that there was no guarantee- she was being offered a spot, what if by saying no Spitfire decides she’s not interested and never offers again? It’s a reasonable thing to do, after all.

No, given RD’s skills it would barely be reasonable even if she hadn’t, as I already said once, saved their lives. Now granted, their lack of loyalty to Soarin may have also meant a lack of gratitude - but then that circles back to her being good enough for them to want her. And as I said, it wasn’t even an invitation to the Wonderbolts per se.

It’s not an official invitation, but the implications are pretty clear- flying with Wonderbolts will mean flying in the Wonderbolts. And again, if she says no, she doesn’t want it, right? Easy to misinterpret that.
 
Either way, it was still not okay for Twilight to act like this matters more to the others. Why shouldn’t they be asked to do this for their friend? It means a lot more to Dash than it does to them, surely they’d understand that and let her have this.

Rainbow Dash should’ve never became a Wonderbolt. It ruined the show!!!! She shouldn’t have ever, ever, EVER been seen as one until the epilogue. Her character had to purpose whatsoever and was ruined forever ever since Wonderbolts Academy, which is why all her episodes suck, besides 28 Pranks Later and Non-Compete Clause (both of which had to go back to Season 1 to find something interesting for her to do.)

Only easy if Spitfire doesn’t know Dash, or if Dash doesn’t give a good reason. (And if “I made a promise” isn’t a good reason, does she still want to be a Wonderbolt?)
 
And Twi is still a novice Princess - cut her some slack. She was right about not choosing bieng a choice, at least.

Because it’s much more entertaining and good writing for her life’s goal to be something she has to work at for the whole show. They ruined it by having us see her get it so early, especially since there was never a single remotely interesting story that they told with her as a Wonderbolt.

How is it okay? I’m harping on this because I find it to be one of the most twisted lessons of the show, telling people to abandon their dreams for a mild interest of their friends.

Yeah same, I really loved their teacher/student relationship and I would’ve loved to see them both more often.

And since Rainbow Falls is being talked about now, I thought the episode was bad, but I find its flaws really humorous and exaggerated in a funny way. So it’s my guilty pleasure episode of Season 4.

I dsagree - as the show went on longer, there was only so far they could stretch it out without it seeming like an endless treadmill. (Rarity too, and the CMCs cutie marks.)

Because it isn’t abandoning the dream, just a shortcut. RD had already given up on the Bolts once, back in Academy. This was no such choice - a good opportunity, but not an irreplaceable one.

I don’t see it as abandoning her dream, but I agree that the whole story seems odd. The town is all hyped about it, but they send Fluttershy and Bulk to fly for them? Seriously? What, was Scootaloo too busy? There were other Wonderbolts in Ponyville they could have used (or at least cadets). There were weather ponies they potentially could have used. Just look at all the pegasi they could have picked from in Hurricane Fluttershy.
 
So they chain Rainbow to the two worst flyers in town, put pressure on her to win it singlehandedly, and then get offended that maybe she wants to fly with her teammates from her home town.

Derpy Hooves should’ve became a main character just to trigger those ableist Soccer Moms who said that Hasbro shouldn’t be allowed to show her.
