You're going to love me.
Yeah, I’m writing this at midnight and posting this from my phone when the episode actually airs. I have a lot of other stuff to do on my birthday.
Speaking of, yay! Finally, an episode that comes out on my birthday!
Wow, after so many episodes with the girls as the focus, going on epic adventures, fighting evil baddies, and being superheroes, our boy-centric episode is about love and relationships!
Wait what?
In all seriousness, at least they’re doing something with an established relationship, rather than skirt by it like it never happened.
Alright. We pretty much know it’s gonna be a giant misunderstanding and they’ll inevitably come back together in the end. What’s the misunderst-oohhhh.
Okay that’s fairly clever, I can roll with this. It’s still a misunderstanding, but I’m glad that they decided to take the opportunity to use the two characters with matching last names to their-
What? She’s saying something he misunderstands while eavesdropping and that Belle thing is being used for a totally different miniature side-plot?
Fuuuuuck, every time!
Ah well, I still liked the episode, actually. Spike’s always good when he’s snarky and not incompetent, and I like the dynamic of Spike, Big Macintosh, and Discord. And though it’s a bit aggravating with the romcom cliches, it’s nice to see other characters get some focus.
Plus it’s still nice to see Discord get along with others. In his own way, obviously.
Though please tell me if the actual music is better than playing “Take My Breath Away”.
- Fake it ’Til You Make it
- Horse Play
- Surf And/Or Turf
4. The Break Up Break Down
- The Parent Map
- Grannies Gone Wild
- School Daze
- The Maud Couple
- Non-Compete Clause
What’s next, another Spike episode?
Y’know what, I’m actually not dreading that.
