Yeah I get that but I just felt like that is a pointless lesson in a show where most characters are friends with everyone on some base level.

Starlight’s childhood is honestly looking more and more depressing the more I think about it. For her to be this messed up, something must have gone horribly wrong.

I was fine with it. It was a good thing for Starlight to learn I think. It’s like her old evil worldview was almost coming true in front of her eyes. Inherant differences between ponies driving them apart and rendering them incompatible even though they were really close in the past, and her learning that something like that is generally only a problem if you allow it to be. What you mentioned about “it’s who you do it with” is kinda fulfilled at the end. Starlight was trying to expand her horizons. She took an interest in Sunburst’s mystery box and wanted him to tell her what’s inside of it.

Are we seriously trying to justfy Starlight behavior?

The way I see it, stuff like this EXPLAINS Starlight’s behavior, but it doesn’t JUSTIFY or EXCUSE it.
 
Much like Diamond Tiara turning out to have an abusive mother explained her behavior, but didn’t justify or excuse it.

Finale
 
||Just seen the finale, not as good as the last one but alright. Was a bit daft none of them thought of the possibilty that they could be bringing back the PoS as well though Starlight vaguely sensed it wasn’t a good idea.
 
I put the pony of Shadows on about the same level as Sombra i.e not that great, he didn’t do much.
 
Part 1 was the best but it was good seeing Twilight getting the cold shoulder from Starswirl as well, as was seeing the Elements dusted off for the first time in 3 years.
 
I’m probably in the minority but I don’t want to see them devote too much time to the pillars next season.

I haven’t see it yet, though I know there’s something of significance in it by the beginning of Shadow Play.

Why does it need to be justified or not? She’s a fictional character, and this isn’t a court of law.

He sounded like Dark Heart from Care Bears Movie II to me.

I thought the voice fit for a villain who was actually a weakling trying to make himself look more impressive.

Eh. Its more impressive because it involves two groups of special ponies and their magic support.
 
The stakes are higher in the movie, if you ask me.

We need a better acronym for the Pony of Shadows…  
PoS just seems a little on the edge.
 
Maybe start calling him Shadow, Shade, or something?
 
Speaking of which. Sombra literally means “Shadow” in Spanish, and he’s a Pony as well.  
So WHO is the real Pony of Shadows?

Well yes until now the villains only cared about Equestria I remember a while back there was a discussion if Equestria was the whole world, but the movie || the Storm King dosent just stop at just Equestria. It also didn’t help that the PoS ((See what I did there?) Didn’t actually do anything he just floated around looking scary.||

INterestingly, Stygian himself was the only one really at stake during the finale. Him and the morality of Starswirl.
