Hiding Poll's Closed - Results and Next Steps

Yep.

I’m not surprised by the results of the polling, but I am a little disappointed. I don’t see this decision convincing any of the artists on the DNP list to come back. If anything, I think that this will encourage more artists to leave in favor of sites that offer them more direct control over their content.

I would think we allow artists an extremely large amount of control over their artwork.  
Artists can:  
-Set limitations on their artwork uploaded. Such as resolution sizes, sources, specific content, who can upload it, whether others can edit it or not.  
-They can also request for specific images to be removed.  
-They are the only ones allowed to request a takedown their artwork.  
-Can be assigned as the listed uploader of their art if they wish.
 
I believe the only things we disallow is having rule-breaking artwork uploaded, and locking of comments on request.

You’re misreading my statement, then. If they’re not on the DNP list because of issues with the site’s user base and abuse of the voting system, then they’re not even within the scope of this discussion, let alone my post.

This whole thing is about the downvteing part of the voting system and hiding(per image), if you didn’t mean that then you where off topic.  
I didn’t misread anything, you misunderstood the topic.

I dunno why people think the downvote button needs to be there. A “hide” option truly would work better.

Because as bad as the downvote button sounds and despite its blatant abuse brought to our attention, it would be meaningless to just get rid of it and have only an upvote and hide function. People have a right to an opinion, good or bad, and artist and viewer alike have to remember that.

yes, see description. I was all over this idea (still think superhero-ish costume or something would be good for whatever we go with) but since the # of comments are still useful info on thumbnails, it’d be weird to have Comment there twice.

If we do go with the alter-ego thing then the change in appearance should be bigger, that one is lame as you can see it’s Comment, so like you said it would be weird to have Comment there twice.

I mean, we’ve already got a unicorn, pegasus, earth pony, and alicorn…zebras are the most pony-looking species we’ve got left - AND they’ve got a well-suited color scheme! Just a splash of color on the eye symbol from whatever color the regular icon uses, and I think it’s perfect. (oh and btw, Tags is a male pony, too, but since I’m the only one who’s drawn him yet it doesn’t really count, does it?)
