“Have a nice day, Princess!” Coffee Cake called out from behind the counter, a nervous smile plastered upon her face.
The small bells above the cafe’s door chimed softly as Princess Celestia exited the coffee shop, glancing awkwardly over her shoulder at both Coffee Cake and Zipper Breeze. The princess was soon out of sight, leaving the two girls to an empty shop.
Coffee Cake quickly lost her smile and turned to Zipper with an annoyed expression, “Zipper…”
Zipper was casually wiping down the counter, her bottom lip pouted petitely and smiling a bit, as if she’d not seen what had just occurred, something she often did when she expected the worst.
“You can’t keep writing her love notes to go along with her coffee!” Cake shouted shrilly “She’s one of our usual customers and you’re going to scare her off!”
Zipper looked at Coffee Cake in exaggerated confusion, leaning against the counter with her right elbow propped up, holding her cleaning cloth.
“What in Equestria are you talking about? I don’t write love notes to the princess,” Zipper spat, blushing lightly, “I’ve no idea what you’re even accusing me of!”
Coffee Cake stared at her, mouth open slightly, baffled. She was unsure of what to say to Zipper; she looked around, beginning to laugh.
“You’re kidding me right? You’re my only employee working today, Zip!” Cake began to laugh loudly, her eyes tearing up as she had no idea how to handle Zipper and her oblivious behavior. Cake caught her breath for a moment and pointed at Zipper, “I know that I’m not writing those notes, and it’s strange how it only ever happens when you’re on duty,” she wheezed, trying not to laugh any more at the young Pegasus.
Zipper stared at her a moment, pursing her lips out more in thought. She glanced down casually to her Princess Celestia notepad, and back up at Coffee Cake.
“You’re right, that is strange,” she scoffed as she turned to trot away, her cheeks blushing brightly.
