Old post but fudge it. The equipment depicted here isn’t accurate. For one during the review of the troops by Kyros the Younger we find out that the Greek mercenaries were armed with red tunics, greaves, their aspis, spear and pilos helmet. The pilos helmet being a cone like helmet.

Later in the anabasis we find out that the mercenary army only had 30 cuirasses with them. These were used to equip their newly raised cavalry to have a fighting chance against the skirmishing Persian forces chasing them.
