I dont do this extensively unless im having an issue with the pose, I just thought it looked better for the point I was trying to get across. I generally do spheres attached to cylinders for my legs. If youre having trouble it does help you get a better understanding of the volume of the form.

Real talk though, is that a method how artists draw their body parts? By doing those cross-hair things? I thought that was only done for the head.

I might have to try this technique cause I’ve been having a bitch of a time drawing hooves.
