@bigladiesman
I was thinking of his turn at bat (heh-heh) in the rather B-grade ReturnoftheVampire, where he had a werewolf sidekick and was rampaging around WW2 England as ‘Armand Tesla’.
I also have to admit that I love MarkoftheVampire, though Bela was cheated of his desire to have the actors turn out to be real vamps in the end.
@bigladiesman
I only wish he and Ed Wood had been able to make more films together. Not like Bela was a young, or even middle-aged, man when they met, though – Lugosi was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1882, and served in WWI, for reference. A few more pictures, with less cheese (and heroin), more money, and some genuine writing talent, would’ve been nice. But no, we’re stuck with Bride of the Monster as their ‘masterpiece’. 😖
@Ardashir
Let’s see, there was the original Dracula, Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, that other parody he made in England… Mark of the Vampire doesn’t count for obvious reasons… Yes, I also COUNT three! Three vampire movies! Ha, ha, ha, haaaaaa [Thunderclaps]
Sees what you did there.

He also only ever played the role twice, and I think he appeared on-screen as a for-real vampire maybe three times in total?
