@Chrysalislover
Different artist, but possibly. Its not too far-fetched.

This picture in particular, however, seems FAR more personal. And not in a simple romantic way. Take a very close look at this pic Chrysalislover.

Look at Chrysalis. She is prostrating and breaking down TOWARD Celestia, and letting Celestia kiss her on the forehead. That level of breakdown is EXTREMELY Personal.

In most cases, where regret and sorrow causes people to break down much less personal to the person in front of them, they simply cover their heads in front of them with their hands or hooves. Its a defense mechanism to apologize and breakdown without opening up too personally.

In most cases where the break down is quite a bit personal to the person in front of them, but also emotionally directed elsewhere(ex. other people, the circumstances, the time, etc.) the person will often bury their head into other person’s chest. This is an emotional defense mechanism to receive some comfort from the person in front of them, while at the same time allowing them to go into their own world to dwell on their other misgivings.

This is neither. Chrysalis is breaking down RIGHT in front of Celestia. Not only that, but she is allowing Celestia to hold her cheeks and kiss her on the forehead. You usually see this only in close siblings or lovers, or the closest of friends.

This picture I believe is of the latter. We can surmise that from the lack of comfortable intimacy, but the enormous amount of trusting familiarity. The kiss on the forehead says this.

This is how I see it. Celestia and Chrysalis both have just found out that each other, their mortal enemies, are actually their long lost friend. The attacker, Chrysalis, is breaking down after realizing that, as the memories of Megan come flooding in. And Celestia, while younger then her beloved friend Queen Rosedust, has always been the motherly type, is more then willing to give a kind kiss of forgiveness to her lost friend.

They finally found out who each other’s real names are, they finally recognize each other after changing so incredibly much, and all they can think about is how much they’ve missed each other.

I’ve always liked the idea of Chrysalis staying a truly evil villain the longest out of any, with the exception of maybe Tirek. Maybe its just because she’s that plain fantastic, but Chrysalis makes both evil and good look amazing. However, if they ever wanted to give Chrysalis a heartfelt ending, like in the second to last episode of the series, this is how I would see it happening.
