That’s an actual problem around here. A lot of junk that just unambiguously does not belong on the friggin’ image pages– like asking mods questions or bitching about various site features– gets dumped here by uploaders who clearly weren’t aware that the forums even exist.

I really doubt the animators took all that into consideration. They just replaced a generic guard template with Flash for the hell of it and nothing else in the scene is effected by it. End of story.

I don’t have problem with him appearing, especially after Twilight’s reaction of indifference (writers and story board understand how crushes work? possibly). But my issue with his appearance is wasted potential. I thought his appearance in the Luna micro was great as it reinforced the guards suck at being guards (and that Shining is still the least suck guard). While continuity is great, doing something beyond walk out stand, leave with carpet rolling up might have been nice, especially with the whole “running into you” thing from the movie. That’s why I bring up Twilight’s reaction. Had she still been crushing on him, she most likely would have made at best a smile in his direction, or even a turn of the head. Instead we get indifference and then glee when Cadance appears. Even if she was following Princess Protocol ^tm, she would have said something before he returned to the train. Thus the theory of the crush is over.
 
Again I could care less, but I would rather there be some development versus he’s here, bye.

I don’t really dig Flash, but just the human version of him because he was some generic guitarcoolguy that we were supposed to like soley for this reason with no real personality. Horsey Flash could be considered innocent of these sins, so I don’t hate him. He may be even more blank that human Flash, but at least he doesn’t have some guitar substituting for a personality and demanding that we like him and take him as TS’ love interest for it.

Maybe if he cameos more often, it’ll take the “lol background pony” jokes away from Applejack.

I thought it was nice, I’d love for Flash to be a Background Guard. Continuity and all that. Bonus points for all the drama over it.

Ain’t give a damn. Laughed about it with my friends when I saw it, though. Reckon I don’t care when a show’s creators lie to me; frankly, I prefer it, to be honest.

Im happy that hes back. The reason his existance pissed me off is because i assumed they were going to give twi a love intrest for 1 hour then never speak of him again. Think of the lessons they could learn introducing romance into a normaly platonic friendship setting. Adding flash as apermenant would be a good thing.

Part of me is going “not this shit again” while the other part is going “better get the popcorn.”

This, basically. I tossed in a “Hahahaha, /mlp/ is going to soil itself and flop around like a carp, that was a hilarious fingerflip of a background appearance!” for good(bad) measure, and went back to being slightly unsettled by that terrifying murdertrain.

I just went “Oh! Hey, Flash” and enjoyed the five-second (or whatever) cameo.
