I remember when Patrick was a lovable oaf that can actually be witty at times. Now he’s just a mean spirited retard.
 
Pre-movie Patrick was an oaf that can be clever and he even helped Spongebob cheat through a driving test with a walkie-talkie.
 
I don’t consider any Spongebob after the movie canon. The Creator of the series intended the movie to be the finale and left after the production and MOST of the series writers left as well. Nick wouldn’t let it end and milk the series for what it’s worth.
