I doubt they’re going to come out and say that they’re alive. That would go against everything that the show has done right since the beginning and anger a fair number of fans with the retcon. Unfortunately, Hasbro still seems too scared to come out and say that they’re actually dead, despite evidence. Even Lauren Faust had to beat her head against this brick wall and in the end the best she got was the two shooting stars in Apple Family Reunion. As much as I would love for them to say they’re actually gone, as it would be wonderful for younger viewers who have lost a parent to have a pony they can relate to, I don’t think it’s going to happen.
