It’s what I always liked about the Metal Gear Solid series. It’s basically a world where all that bananas stuff they tried to invent for warfare but failed because it was too insane or impossible all actually worked, like psychic soldiers and hover platforms and such XD

It’s probably what they’ll move onto next. Living/Reusable explosives more or less peaked at things like bomb ponies, and even then they’re more useful at controlled demolitions than warfare :D

True. I don’t think that means ICBM ponies will be a thing. ICBMs only go one direction and usually stage during flight.

Why not a land-based mobile launchpad pony? Maybe a Metal Gear PONE (Metal Pone REX?) with a nice shoulder-mounted railgun to launch warheads?

The concept of long-distance living/reusable weapons of mass destruction is flawed though. From here they’ll probably go with a non-living megaton nuclear weapon launched from a plane pony or satellite pony :D

This was the Cold War. The Cold War was partly about showing off, and the best way to show off was to either build bigger bombs, more precise bombs, or better delivery methods. The world only went “Whoa! Slow down!” when Khrushchev had Tsar Bomba tested. 50 MT, and that was a nerfed test version of a 100 MT design.
 
I guess if we wanted to step away from fission and fusion devices, we could go with antimatter bombs or even neutronium bombs.
