Light Yagami could have succeeded had he not had any social media presence. What he should have done was to lurk on the internet on various social media site and let society do the exposing while quietly pounce on any given opportunity he finds online through social media feeds, instead of actively trying to solicit info under any shitty paper thin alias.

But his god wannabe ego got the best of him.
