I don’t know, I’d say they’ve got the balance right in terms of screen time for each of the mane six. No episodes built solely around one character and lots of room for interactions.

I like the idea of making the episodes  
12 + 13 a build up to the movie, but  
overall I think 13 + movie are way  
less screen time than 26 episodes as a whole :(
 
So I am undecided if I like the  
13 + movie concept that they do…

Why do people want a Fluttershy episode? It will just be the same as every other Fluttershy episode. She’ll become more assertive in one way or another and then she’ll go back to being defenceless and useless in the next episode for the sake of cuteness.

The rest of the Mane 6 were also part of the focus in A Dog and Pony Show, and Green isn’t your Color was about Fluttershy too. And that was way back into the 1st season.
 
Also, you’ve got to be kidding if you think Sonic Rainboom was a Rarity episode. She may have been the center of some scenes, but the focus was always on RD.

Season 1 was over 2 years ago, I don’t think we need a break. Besides, who’d ever want to take a break from Rarity?  
On another note, Rarity got 3 episodes in season 1, the same amount of episodes that Rainbow got in season 2.

I would say S3E1+2 are more Twilight episodes, really it kinda focused on her test and the others barely got any real screen time or development

@Advance: She had so much focus in season 1 we needed a huge break. RD didn’t even get one episode in that season, even Sonic Rainboom turned into a Rarity episode.

I just looked into it, and the last time we got a Rarity episode was 366 days ago. She’s the foremost mane 6 pony who’s gone the longest without an episode.

I think it is fine. The ponies and Spike averaged two episodes a piece for season 2. So logically, in a half length season, each gets one. And people were BEGGING for a Scootaloo episode this time, since the other two had episodes in season 2. The only real waste time wise was also having a CMC episode, but it was so good I don’t care.
