The only real fix for it I could identify is a full reversion of the breaking commit, forcing the output file to always be initialized before beginning decoding. While we do have our own fork of FFMpeg to fix minor rendering errors in GIF images, reverting a commit that fixes other bugs in the program is at best a hack.

And…why is that a problem? Isn’t there a better solution than making the uploader increase the video size by an order of magnitude?
