Word of god from one of the directors of the show, she was an unpopular girl at school who after being stood up by a boy went home and ended up dying in a fire(possibility started by her), that’s also why she wants people to remember her name. Nobody knew or cared about her in life, and so that’s all she cares about in death  
It really makes you wonder, many of those ghosts used to be alive, the question is how did they die? it gets kinda sad when you think about individuals like Youngblood, who’s only a child, or cujo, who’s just a puppy

I keep hearing that story! where is that from? I don’t remember at any point in the show’s run that they gave a backstory to ember

Ironic considering the Danny phantom ember died in a fire, and this ember is a fireproof dragon
