The only sequel to a Don Bluth film that was actually good was Fievel Goes West, though the fact that it wasn’t a direct-to-video film probably helped, even if Bluth himself wasn’t involved.

That’s the problem with the sequels, isn’t it? They’re so dumbed down and fit for only children. I’d say Don Bluth should’ve done the sequels.
It’s a damn shame that the LBT sequels are so tame, so dumbed down, so cutesy; the original was the best because it treated its audience with respect. Don Bluth has said that he believes kids can handle anything as long as there’s a genuine happy ending.
Why do you think everybody cries at the end of the film? It’s because the audience is put through an emotional rollercoaster~
You laugh
You cry
You get scared
and after all the main characters go through, it just makes the happy ending all the more heartwarming~
@kleptomage
…you got to be kidding me. NINE YEARS SINCE THE LAST SEQUEL [MOVIE #13] AND THEY JUST RELEASED A NEW ONE?! What madman would try to milk that franchise again after so long?
meanwhile, at the offices of Universal Studios Home Entertainment…
magnificently weird
My reaction to the 13th movie in a nutshell.
Oh my gosh, you’re right! They literally made it over 65 minutes long as a reference to the Dinosaur’s extinction… or something!
Weird? Maybe, but somewhat enjoyable.
What madman would milk any franchise for 30 years?
…Wait a minute…
He only directed one sequel himself and it was weird~

I understood this growing up, but I still loved those 5 dinosaurs. 7, if you count Chomper and Ruby.
The first few sequels weren’t TOO bad, but then they just got worse and worse.
Same here man.
I felt the same
My inner child just got punched in the gut.
Perfect moment to use this gif
