Alright, well so much for my trying to help and defend this thing and you. The others are right, this thing is hopeless, just scrap it.
Seems like good feedback actually. As far as fur goes, its size makes Applejack kind of a-few-inches-high mascot. It would hardly be visible on a full-scale pony.

“try to stick more to the show’s proportions”
worst advice ever

A caveat: I am not an artist of any kind. You would get much more precise feedback from someone with experience in organic 3D model design. All I can tell you is what I do and don’t like about the model.
For me the eye just seems too large and perhaps misplaced. The lips seem too tight and pushed back. In fact the whole shape of the head is just a little off. I really like the look of the muzzle in the Luna model in the artist’s gallery as compared to this one. While I like the fur texture for the most part it just seems too rough and messy. Maybe the fur follicles are too large?
I really wish I could just point out XYZ and then tell the artist how to fix it, but that’s just not something you can do with any artwork. The artist is clearly very good at the mechanics of building a model, it’s just that sometimes the sum of all the parts is less then the value of all the individual pieces.
I wish I could give better feedback.
No need to be mean. It’s not that bad.
But, as an example looking through the artist’s gallery I can say I prefer earlier versions (v2 Applejack for example). I’m not sure why you decided to change the proportions so much from that, it was pretty much perfect then.
I don’t for a second pretend to know what can be done about that nor do I think that I could do any better.
Yes we can, you could spend your entire life on something and it can still be a pile of shit. Time spent is irrelevant.
I would suggest, if I may, to round out the bottom of the cheek just a tad, and bring the nostrils forward, square the tip of the muzzle a bit, And can you move the shape of the eyelids a little bit more narrow and tall.
If you want it to resemble an existing character more, just realistic looking then yeah you should probably try to stick more to the show’s proportions (otherwise you get people calling the uncanny valley on artistic renderings like this and finding them kind of freaky looking). The comment I made wasn’t intended to bash it was more my reasoning to the other people who commented why it might be “scary” (as they said).
Let me guess, you’re the artist?
Nothing is strictly “wrong” because he doesn’t have to follow anything.
@Huacaya
What exactly would you suggest to redesign?
