“This is the FINEST PIECE OF ART ON THIS SITE! The truest pairing in the history of pairings. If you take a close look at these two Ponies, and really know them, you’ll see that. Rarijack is for those too inexperienced to recognize it for the trope that it is. It’s such a trope that the writers even play off it for its comedy effect. BUT when the director calls “cut!” and the cameras stop rolling Twilight and Applejack usually leave the studio together. And before you get any ideas for a fimfic about this, it’s been done. (Big grin) Flutterdash has great truth as well, but the most obvious show writers pairing is Fluttertree. You have to be an idiot to miss that one. Pinkie isn’t all that interested in stallions. Rarity may well end up with Spike. But these two Ponies are both deeply flawed and need each other. Who is second in command of the Mane Six? Who does Twilight put her complete trust in (second only to Celestia?) At two of the most difficult situations in the series Applejack knows there is only one pony who will say the right thing. How do you tell Pinkie that the five don’t have any kind of connection, much less friendship with Maud. Applejack turns to the only pony who knows how to calm her down when everything is wrong, the one pony who says all the right things that make her feel better when she’s down. - Shove Twilight forward. That’s something you only do to someone you utterly trust. Remember Tanks for the Memories? Dash is having a breakdown… Who does Twilight turn to to try to comfort their friend? The one who always comforts her, the one she goes to when she is in emotional pain - levitate Applejack forward. Friendship is about arguing over rusty pie plates and cheesy broaches, going to the spa with. But REAL love is the pony you trust, the pony you turn to in the worst of times, the pony with whom you share what matters.
