On their way to the Crystal Empire Khaki and Tommy got caught in a snowstorm, with the visibility so poor the pair had no other choice but to wait out the storm. Being a capable earth pony khaki-cap soon whipped up a small campfire but by that point little Tommy was already starting to show symptoms of the alicorn flu. Panicked, Khaki pulled off his signature jeans and wrapped them around the little guy, knowing his blubber would keep himself plenty warm and that his number one priority was keeping the little banana safe.

Tommy forced a smile as he nuzzled up next to his Uncle despite feeling really poorly in an attempt to try and reassure him that he was ok (as to be expected from the little guy never wanting to make his friends or family worry about him) but that did nothing to appease Khaki as he clutched Tommy tighter and prayed to Galaxia that the storm would pass soon and that Tommy would warm up and stay safe. Fighting back tears, Khaki began telling stories to the young alicorn, recalling the times when he was a foal and the adventures he had to try and take Tommy’s mind of the situation. After a while Tommy fell asleep in Khaki’s hooves, snoring ever so gently because of his blocked muzzle.

Relieved that Tommy was comfortable enough to sleep, Khaki let out a little sigh of relief and rubbed Tommy’s mane ever so gently. Within a couple of hours the storm subsided and the two were on their way again, both being so happy that they had each other for comfort in that unfortunate situation.
