what sick bastard painted a pumpkin as an apple just to trick poor flutty?

I see it as a field expedient means of luring her for capture so she can be cured again.

Also, if she is sane this time around, we have established that she is now acceptable pranking material (“Sweet and Elite” I think it was?)… maybe there are apples INSIDE the pumpkin and the paint hides the seam where the top was removed to scoop out the seeds?
