Maybe their goal could be forcing conformity, forcing everyone else to be like them. In place of guns, they could instead focus on something that stuns their targets so they can be captured and forced to join their empire. Ironically, Starlight Glimmer could have a lot to say about this development, and could possibly be the one to save the day. You know, because she was forcing people to conform to HER wishes?
Or maybe they shouldn’t know what guns even are.
If we have to tip-toe around things just because they are even the vaguely and remotely related to something else, then we have no direction to go in except backwards.
Millitary Uniforms don’t automatically amount to Nazi’s. If they are brought back in a millitary form, they either should not have guns or their guns should be primitive and a “new invention” which could be what has sparked an interest on conquest.
