They make up for that with Dragon Ball Z Kai, adapting the original Japanese Version into a far more faithful English Dub.

Why do people like them? Well, a number of reasons:
 
Some people don’t do well with juggling their attention between subtitles and the visuals on screen. Not everybody’s a multi-tasker, believe it or not.
 
Some people DO find the English Voice Actors because… they do. There isn’t always some complex, deep-rooted reason why, sometimes people like what they like. Amazing, amirite?
 
While certain lines are reworded to fit the mouth flaps since it’s feel pretty awkward otherwise, another reason is because they work better for English speaking audiences in terms of sentence structures. Literal translations aren’t too popular in how weird they feel, disrupting the immersion. That said, a good dub knows how to juggle adapt certain lines of dialogue for English while staying true to the Anime’s story as much as they can.
 
Sad as it is, losing thing in translation is unfortunate but an occupational hazard. Nobody’s forcing you to watch them since the original version is legally available should you get it on DVD.

Or, and this is a big shocker, people can have preferences that don’t match with your’s. Sure, you might not “get it” but who are you put them down for it?

Lip flaps not matching 100% is a given, but they try to get it as close as possible and not make it look like those badly synced seventies kung-fu films you find at the bargain bin. The reason I listed those series is because in most circles people looked on those dubs favorably and thought the acting and directing was superb. There were a few good dubs in the 90s and early 2000s.
 
So it’s insulting if one likes a dub version of an anime over the other? What? As I mentioned earlier, it boils down to taste, which is subjective. You think the seiyuu and studios in Japan give a damn that some fan miles overseas prefers the English voices over their own? I’m sure the actors understand the whole language barrier deal, and probably don’t care. The studios care if the adaptation is bringing in fans and making them money. Which is the point of English dubs, to grab an audience and make money for the studios. I hope, despite being a ‘pain in the ass’, you understand that not everyone can watch subbed anime, and dubbed anime is how some people can get into a show. I will not call you a weeb for watching a show in its original format.

Oh, Chris Sabat and Dameon Clarke were on top of their game even in the original Funimation dub. Ocean Dub literally only had Drummond and maaaaaaybe whoever voiced Goku going for it.
 
Best Goku still goes to MasakoX, regardless. XD

I agree. Justin Cook did well as the voice of Yusuke, as with Chuck Huber doing Hiei.
 
I refer to the Funimation Dub of DBZ, of course. Ocean had its moments, especially with Brian Drummond’s signature line, but Funi did much better.

Depending on which dub you mean, yeah. Yu Yu Hakusho also falls firmly into the exception category with it being Funimation’s first serious successful dub all the way through.

Rule of thumb is, if it’s an Anime with western influence, it’ll sound better dubbed. If it’s with Eastern themes or stranger ideas, it’ll sound better subbed.

Everyone that watches dubs always says “it’s not as bad as it used to be” and I really don’t understand that, because the reasons I listed as problems arise from a language being crammed into mouths not fit for what’s being said. There’s no way to “fix” that, it always looks weird to me. Not to mention that I just don’t think American actors can emote in a way that naturally matches the animation, there’s just something off and awkward seeing English voices trying to match the Japanese animation. It’s a weird dissonance. And you claim it’s not like it was in the 90’s and 00’s but then list dubbed animes that came out exclusively at that time. What’s with that? Cowboy Bebop is my all time favorite anime and I CAN’T STAND the dub version (FMA too).  
I’m a pain in the ass, I know, I just think it’s insulting to the anime to suggest an altered American version is somehow better (or equivalent) than the original Version that artists and actors put hundreds of hours into.  
But then again, I’m a pain in the ass. Allegedly.

I’d say you would have a point if this were the 90s to 00s. English dubbing and voice directing have come long way since those days, and there several series that people consider the acting equal if not better than the original (ex: Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy, Attack on Titan, etc).

Watch the english dub of Hellsing Ultimate for a few minutes, then you can look me in the eye and tell me english dubs are “bastardizations”. Original Japanese subs are overrated.

I know, but dubs are so HORRIBLE. The voices never match the character and the dialogue changes to match the flap that happens when stuffing a different language inside a mouth not intended to fit those words. And there’s often an annoying “Americanization” of certain phrases and situations and I just DON’T GET IT! How can people like that? It’s a bastardized version

It all boils down to preferences.  
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a show in one’s native tongue or reverse. Not everyone wants to watch a show and read subtitles. It also may come as a surprise but people can enjoy a show in its original format and English dub.

OR all you people could watch KLK in its native Japanese language. You know, the way it’s made originally?
 
And now I await the cries of “weeb” because apparently enjoying anime in it’s original format is bad.

Yes. Look at the credits for those videos and you’ll see her name in them. Heck, RD in Epic Cupcake Time sounds a little bit like her Ryuko voice.
