Amore didn’t know what to do. Sombra was the first of his kind, a hybridization of Umbra with a pony shell. That and Crystal ponies are rather sheltered. They have the Crystal Heart and Equestria to protect them from anything that wants to hurt them, so they don’t properly know what to do in a crisis, as well as the message of ‘love’ they have. It’s a foolish notion, but given how love had kept them safe, Amore thought it could help him.
Yeah, the whole thing was screwed from the start with people like her and Sombra’s mom in charge.
And yet Whatsherface knew the whole time, thus awakening Angstybutt’s evil raison d’être. When she could have simply took him and moved him somewhere. And when he got older, he could have done it himself. It’s all just so pitiful.
That’s not an easy thing for a kid who is secretly a sleeper agent to do without knowing why.
Yet I still prefer Brenda’s take on Sombra being torn apart and healed.
