Yeah, that is kind of odd. But then again, it does seem like a lot of the background ponies don’t tend to have ideas until somepony else gives some to them. Also, being unique in a new way would probably make her less ‘part of the herd’ than the couple-hundred copypones she was trying to keep company with.
Well.
Customers expect to get what they order. Period.
Bland and forgettable to Rarity, not the common Canterlot consumer. Even after at least 200 were produced and sold, ponies were still coming to the boutique to buy it, and none expressed a want for personal touches.
Yes, but celebrity styles aren’t typically mass-produced for this exact reason. More typically, everybody would want their own personal touches, and/or something cheaper. Like Rarity said, once it started being mass-produced, it became something bland and forgettable. And like I said, Rarity could’ve just had Twilight model the new version.
Except thay she wanted the dress because Twilight wore it, not because of how nice it looked. By adding to it, the dress’s status as the one Twilight wore vanished, so did its appeal to her.
She got a better product than the one she paid for, one that was more true to the intended image than the original design the other ponies have. I’ve encountered this with mistakes I’ve made in delivering pizzas (sometimes I would get orders switched and give somebody a marginally different and vastly more expensive pizza than the one they ordered, then have to get that remade for the customer who actually ordered it). More often than not, the customer will just keep the better pizza. Also more often than not, the ones who refuse the altered version will carry on like this pony did about not getting exactly what they ordered, taking personal offense at the mistake and often demanding compensation for the inconvenience.
If Rarity was evil (or business savvy, take your pick), she could’ve asked Twilight to pose in the new dress before presenting it to the customer base as the “2.0” version and made a ton of money off a minor change to the product.
Rarity thinks recycling is for commies.
Also, why didn’t Rarity try pulling that card? This costumer may not appreciate it, but one the other dozens of customers might have. Why throw it away?
That may be but she wants what is popular and in fashion.
…
Nah, the name situation is chaotic enough as it is. No need to add more fuel to the fire.
