I should have noted that I’m not a fanboi save that of all things ’Droid. So ’m hardly defending Apple here. ‘cause I wasn’t. Just saying that there hardly alone in participating in this conduct.

Lead free Solder… is the kinda sh– that makes Solder as weak as it does and bricks rather expensive Consoles like the Failbox360 RRoD… Of course having a crappy cooling design never helps either.

This may be the first time I’ve seen Apple, soldering, and circuit boards together that didn’t involve exploited Chinese laborers chained to their workstations.

As we all know, lead was once the key ingredient in solders; its negative effects led to it getting booted in favour of tin. The semiconductor industry now consumes almost every stable metal on the table to deliver this bewildering array of effects and components - silicon and the group 13/15 impurities remain the centres though!
