I’m not sure, I clicked the artist so I could see this pic as a thumbnail, and nothing really looks any different, maybe the person who added the tag saw something the rest of us won’t see?
magic? earth pony magic allows shit like “sticky hooves” and pegasi magic allows them to control feathers like fingers..
Sticky hooves are a visual cartoon gag, much like the feather hands. None of them makes sense if taken outside the cartoon logic.

Sticky hooves are a well-established phenomenon. It’s clear that pony keratin is a supernatural substance.
I suppose. But, feathers are basically nails, i.e. keratin, so the prospect of casually bending nails instead of fingers to grasp at objects flips me out.
And you see absolutely no resemblance between the primaries and the stucture of a bat’s wing?
Yes, in real life, feathers aren’t dexterous, but it’s been repeatedly shown in the show that pony feathers are, and by comparing the structure it’s not surprising how that would work like a hand.

There is this concept called “humorous exaggeration.” It is tied to another novel concept called “humor.” You may want to look into them.
But bird wings are rather different, with only the front being actual bones and the rest of the mass being feathers.
And feathers don’t have any dexterity at all, and even grasping delicately or most finger motions are pretty impossible.
I absolutely love when pegasus/alicorn wings resemble bird as much as possible, it just falls into my appreciation of the show maintaining a fantasy element.
Yeah, the wing making an actual ‘hand’ is cute and just a visual cartoony thing. Like Pinkie’s antics. Those don’t usually bother me as long as they’re kept minor and don’t interfere with the story.
I preffer the staff to stay as close to proper/believable motions and anatomy when possible though. Like when Celestia uses the wing to push Twi.
Heh the only violence that would fit into the show would be of the PG rating kind. :p
Also yes, since season 1 they have been maintaining just the right amount of fantasy, magic and cartoon humor to keep bronies scrambling to maintain a sense of orderly logic in explaining how the pony world works.
I just tell people “its a cartoon and the production staff will make ponies do what ever they want” like Wing Hands. :p
