I’d say it’s less about being “nude” than about being underdressed. Like someone showing up at a friend’s house wearing a tacky blouse and worn-out jeans, and discovering her friend is actually hosting a semi-formal soiree.

Considering it was the first season and Hasbro was already dropping close to $1million per episode, I think Top Drawer/Studio B/DHX Media was playing it safe.

That was the odd thing about “Best Night Ever”. The Mane 6 made such a big deal about their outfits. But the majority of the ponies at the Gala were unclothed. I guess Hasbro didn’t want to spend the money on giving everypony a fancy outfit.
