I think I have a good angle for the Evil Shrink version: she is trying to force normalcy by curing her patients of fantastical delusions or magic and monsters that she knows damn well are perfectly true.

Mainly because in either of those roles, she could be in a prime position to prey on a certain lost and vulnerable former unicorn who’s still trying to shake off some lingering guilt and isn’t quite sure of her place in the world yet.

Yes, but “possessed by evil forces” is not the core element of Luna or Trixie’s personality.
 
Plus it just seems to me that she has a lot of potential to be dangerous and unnerving, and it feels like giving her a Tumblr would make her a joke.

You might not like the bullshit on Tumblr, but ranting on the internet can be ignored. Starlight basically abducted the mane six, ripped their souls off their butts, and shoved them in a tiny room with her propaganda piped in, where they were to stay until they “repented”. I can’t imagine her human counterpart being satisfied unless she’s “convinced” at least a half-dozen people to “see the light”.
