I believe the inspiration for the poster as it was in the episode of “Rarity Takes Manehatten” was the play “Cats.”
 
I could be wrong though.
 
In any case, my mind on seeing it was: “The building has just realized that there are ponies inside it, and it doesn’t know what they want.”
