Between Satan’s UP THERE musical number and buildup to Saddam getting tossed back into the Pit, I found that portion of the South Park flick surprisingly cathartic. And yeah, evident parallels between that and this pic beyond horns, red skin & goat leg(s). Come to think of it, Discord could use a Kenny type to second-guess his ‘brilliant’ whims, though it’s equally understandable why nopone’s exactly jumping for the position.
It actually makes a lot more sense than some of the lesbian ships. I mean, Discord threw over the pony that half the fandom ships him with to join Tirek after Tirek felt him up in a dark alley. :-) Tirek was actively touchy-feely with Discord, something no one but Fluttershy ever is (Discord’s touchy-feely with everyone, but only Fluttershy and Tirek have ever hugged him voluntarily. Yes, Tirek’s was a sideways bro-hug, but seriously they could be gayer than the gayest thing ever and Tirek’s still too much of a macho supervillain to give anyone a real hug.) And Discord’s reaction to having his powers stolen wasn’t “You asshole, you betrayed me” but “But… I thought you cared about me”.
Yes, yes, obviously there was no homosexual subtext intended by the series, but… when you recognize that whatever was going on, was Tirek manipulating Discord, the Disrek pairing suddenly has as much going for it in canon as Fluttercord. It’s just a twisted, sad thing where one party doesn’t care and the other’s being used, where Fluttercord is sincere… but that’s part of the point. To me, you can read either ship as platonic or hoping-to-be-romantic/sexual, and either way, Tirek’s a user who’s playing with Discord’s emotions to get what he wants, and Fluttershy is genuine and sincere about her feelings.

It’s like Harley Quinn and the Joker except what if Harley came first and was the more famous and generally more powerful of the two. It’s a glorious trainwreck you can’t stop watching. It’s as fucked up as Mulder/Krycek except that both characters are villains so it doesn’t make you go “da fuk, why is he getting jiggy with the guy who killed his dad?” Or like the Saddam/Satan relationship in South Park except that the characters are actually attractive and have decent voice acting.
I am all in favor of this and would like to see more. Preferably with loads of heartbreak, angst, and Discord getting creative vengeance after Tirek is defeated.
