Um, what do you mean by this? Sunset’s backstory was explored a bit in the comics, too.
Yeah I think Discord doesn’t get one cause he’s a semi-regular character on the show and occasionally appears in the comics too, so there might not really be need of a one shot to give him backstory since it could easily be told elsewhere.
Same applies to Sunset Shimmer.
It could mean there’s already a S5 episode that touches on the matter of Discord’s backstory. Unless they first want to see how well this series will catch on before they start making more issues.
Makes me wonder if there will be other RI covers then (maybe Celestia, Luna, Cadance and Discord for the remaining RIs)
