It’s probably because the comics, graphically wise, completely suck and are on par with ponycreator OCs, The “Lesson” being learned was completely taken from redpill wiki or something stupid, and the dialogue is cringeworthy at best and downright creepy at worst.

I wonder if Umneem could enlighten us about the sociological phenomenon of massively negative perception of the method she passes her knowledge.
 
I mean, Umneem is passing us some useful knowledge, the audience is mostly intellectually oriented (a.k.a. nerds), so it seems it should be receptive, and yet most of these comics end up with negative score or barely breaking even, so there must be something she does horribly wrong - the negative bias is easily proven - but I can’t exactly put my hoof on the reasons behind it. So could Umneem enlighten me what is it that she does that so many people find her repulsive?

Dispersion’s not forcing her ideas on anyone. She’s illustrating factual principles of mathematics and fallacies of logic. If the CMCs fall and wind up covered in tree sap, it’s not because Dispersion forced her ideas of gravity on them. Gravity just is. Like Restraint Bias just is.

Ah, makes a little more sense after reading the source page. Willpower is a dangerous illusion. The test of it is whether you can stop doing something, or not start doing it. The trouble is, if your test of whether it’s okay to do something is whether you can stop doing it when you want, the only way to test that is to stop doing it. And if you have to stop doing it, then by definition it’s not okay to do it. That in a nutshell is Alcoholics Anonymous. They replace “you can do it as long as you think you can stop” with “you can’t do it because you can never stop.” Its less popular sibling, Moderation Management, changes the test of when to stop from “when you think you can’t stop any more” to “when you have had X amount, period.” It’s never okay to do something if your test of whether you can do it is whether you can stop.
