Let’s be fair, Sweetie Belle is a bit slow sometimes.
Sweetie tackle-hugs are always cute.
And yeah, I agree, his humanizations aren’t the best. Though, I liked his design for human Harshwhinney & Babs.
But dang if this ain’t adorable.
Still adorable though.
Yeah, I doubt it will influence or effect future stories anyways.
Also, receiving punishment from someone else isn’t quite the same as choosing to go through hardships to fix what she’s broken in terms of demonstrating remorse.
But then again, pretty much everyone was out of character in this comic, so I’m not exactly going to hold it against Sweetie Belle.
I guess it is, (especially, sense that’d be half a school year) but sense we don’t see ‘em get punished, or anyone act really upset with them, most fans weren’t satisfied with their apology, and repricussion considering how bad they hurt Sunset, and jeprodized her reputation, and friendships.
6 months detention + having to go around and personally apologize to ever other student in the school isn’t a lot of trouble?
She was quite spiteful, and mean to Rare’s in “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils,” but she then went through alot of hell to correct her mistake, and apologize for it, so that made up for it.
While they got punished, sense they didn’t go through as much trouble to make up for their mistake here, it doesn’t feel as satisfying.
Yeah, at least the pony version has the good sense to act ashamed after she’s done something manipulative and/or sneaky (which is more often than you might think).
Considering Apple Bloom’s idea to get Applejack to spend more time with her, she isn’t looking too sane either.

Yeah, Apple Bloom’s explanation implies they knew exactly what they were doing. Just admit you went to the dark side for a bit and move on.
Yeah, I try not to judge an entire series over one issue/episode overall either. But it seems like whenever the show/comic does ANYTHING somebody doesn’t like, some fans freak out, and go “RUINEDz FOREVERz!!!1”
I haven’t read most of the newer issues (money issues personally) but of the ones I have read, the only ones I found kinda dull were Twilight & Rainbow Dash’s “Micro” issues, but even those had some good parts in them. I quite liked the “Return of Queen Chrysalis” arc, but oddly even that one is getting some hate now, even though it was quite well-received when it first came out.
While the brony/MLP fandom is usually quite positive, sometimes it feels that way with half the fanbase… :(
Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, but it’s best not to get “angry” over them.
Those people were mostly just so obbessed with their hatred of Twilicorn that the mere fact that the comics had her as a Unicorn=They were better. When quite frankly I like most of the comics but really looking back at those first issues the Chrysalis arc was good not great, I really dislike the Nightmare Rarity arc and then the Big Mac arc was the strongest (for the record I like the Shining Armor/Cadance one too, like Chrysalis good not great). It was always heavily flucuating in quality.
Yeah See I disliked this comic, I’ll talk shit about it even, But I am not angry or raging about it at all, I disliked a comic, whatever it happens. I hate how people take everything SO FUCKING SERIOUSLY in this fandom now and froth into a rage at the drop of a hat, the level of bitterness is just ridiculous and makes for an unfun and hostile atmosphere in the fandom.
I actually kinda like Fosgitt too, It was neat having an artist do things more stylized, a lot of the hatred against him was cause he didn’t know how to draw Ponyville well and drew it like a suburb and of course, that made people angry because everything makes people angry in this fandom now.
Well, I don’t think the CMC intentionally try to cause trouble, and overall they do care for others. Like I know Sweetie was a total PMS biotch in “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils,” but when she realized the error of her ways, (and the potential she had to ruin her sister’s life) she showed she does care about her sister, and felt awful for getting the wrong idea about her, being jealous, and trying to spite/sabotage her.

I don’t know, Tiara & Spoon have gotten the short end of the stick sometimes. In Ponyville confidential it was implied Cheerilee did punish her, (given Tiara’s cute sad face) along with firing her from the school newspaper. They’ve also fallen in mud, been humiliated before, as well.

The ironic thing about the recent comic/IDW-hatred is, back during the “Twilicorn/Season 3” drama, many fans who “disowned” the show, were constantly going off how much “better” the comics were then the show, and such. (Even CR migrated to the comics for awhile, ‘till his not-so-favorite characters Cadance & Shining Armor were introduced in it.)
Now it’s impossible to even discuss the comics in the fanbase without drama.
This fanbase sure is fickle…
I also don’t get the hate over new artist Jay Fosgitt, I enjoy his art, and I like having some artists who have their own style instead of just copying the show style.

So yeah, I still feel pretty bad for them. By how do they get away with everything? Certainly they’ve done some bad stuff (Ponyville Confidential and for Whom the Sweetie Belle Tolls, for example) but karma tends to find them in the end. Seems yet to have found Tiara however…
