So is Marksaline supposed to be a physical manifestation of the Marker, or just what happens when an alicorn hangs around one for too long?

Here is my take on this, what if Fluffle Puff was found by this marker pony (who I’m calling Dementia) as an infant, who eventually took pity on the little fluff ball and took her on as her “Little Sister,” raising her till she could take care of herself and then returned to the marker to rest, occasionally waking up to check on Fluffle Puff from time to time and make sure she is doing ok.
