Hey you’re right. I still like Red’s headcanon ending for them though. Basically awhile after their pendants are destroyed and their magic removed they run off to parts unknown. When Sunset goes to check on them to see how they’re doing, the girls scream at her and start verbally abusing her, saying they hate her for taking away their magic. How they hate her, her friends and their “stupid friendship,” and Starswirl for sending them to this hellhole of a human world to begin with, as they have lost everything and are all alone and scared.
 
Since Sunset’s reformed now she does everything in her power to keep calm and not lash back at the Dazzlings for taking their anger out on her. She just smiles at them gently and realizes she was once this cruel, and treated others so badly - first her former mentor Celestia, then the other Canterlot High students, and even turned the human mane six against each other in the process - and she too was furious at Twilight and her friends for defeating her and wanted to scream that she hated Twilight back then for taking her power away.
 
Sunset says she understands, and first Adagio’s rage turns to despair, she she just cries in Sunset’s arms. Aria and Sonata start crying too, and Sunset comforts all of them, saying she forgives them. She’s still learning to be nice, so if an “alpha bitch” like her could be reformed and capable of kindness, then ancient sea monsters in the form of three girls follow suit.
 
Flash forward in time to the happy ending: Sunset returns to Equestria with the Dazzlings - she becomes a unicorn again, they become sirens again - and after pony Sunset finally apologizes to Celestia and gains her forgiveness, we see the three Dazzlings, in their sea monster forms, taking carrying pony Sunset Shimmer on their backs, taking the little pony who reformed them for a ride across the sea.

They’ll be fine as long as they have each other. They managed to survive this long, didn’t they? And now that the portal to Equestria can be opened at will, they might even be allowed to go home after all this time–especially if the Giant Alicorn of Death removed their ability to use siren magic on either side, which we don’t know for certain.

She’s a horse!

man, been seeing a lot of art like this lately. I’m glad for it. People need to realize the Dazzlings are living beings just like the other denizens of Equestria and the Equestria Girls world, who can feel sadness and pain as well as teh ebilness people mostly know them for (with the exception of Sonata “overnight fandom mascot who said one line about Taco Tuesday and is now Flanderized as someone who thinks of nothing but tacos 24/7” Dusk.) I also wish people would stop elevating her above Dagi and Aria just because they think she’s cuter and funnier…as a fan of all three Dazzlings, I say the girls are in this together, since all three of them lost their magic.
 
Now if only Studio B would explore their fate after the end of Rainbow Rocks. One of my best friends loves them, especially Adagio, and was just as saddened by the implications of their defeat plus them probably being forgotten and gone forever after the second EqG movie, as I was by Lightning Dust’s fate after the atrocious and rushed ending of Wonderbolt Academy two years earlier. At least in his headcanon ending for them they become friends with Sunset Shimmer, even though she’s the one most responsible for their defeat, and both parties mutually forgive each other…he is actually quite talented at creating fanon stories that tug at the heartstrings: I got teary-eyed when I read his ending for Sunset and the three sirens. Dem feels.
 
I just wish the fandom and the writers cared more about the same villains/antagonists I care about (Queen Chrysalis, Lightning Dust, Dazzlings…though I only mention Chryssie because I thought she was a badass villain and don’t really mind if she never turns good, because she probably won’t,) and stopped pandering to the fans by redeeming “fan-favorite” villains/antagonists (Discord and Trixie, though I don’t mind Trixie’s redemption.) My seeing an asshat like Discord being redeemed just a couple episodes after realizing poor Dusty will never be seen again was just plain insulting.

Only the magic of friendship can help Adagio turn her life around now.
