I guess (in my mind at least) it plays up the idea that their’s no one else like her in this world, she brings something totally different to it and all that jazz.
How exactly does it reinforce that?
I sorta enjoy the idea that theirs no human sunset shimmer myself, sorta feels like a noteworthy example of the worlds not being completely parallel and reinforces the idea that the human world is where sunset belongs.
My headcanon is that EQG Sunset Shimmer is dead (and not because Pony Sunset Shimmer killed her) and when Sunset Shimmer came to the EQGverse, her EQG counterpart’s parents found her and took her in.
You know, the parts about friendship and stuff, instead of the whole taking over school thing.
Haha right I remember that comic, but in all seriousness I do hope they’ll address it at some point. (probably not)

I think she has a human counterpart, just like they implied that Twilight has an human counterpart in the EG world. However that does makes me wonder where pony Sunset Shimmers has lived all this time in the human world. We’ve seen Twilight staying over in the school’s library, so how about Sunset?
